Alleged Alabama church shooter’s firearms business cited for multiple violations in 2018, documents show

The alleged shooter who killed three folks in an Alabama church final week experienced numerous firearms violations towards his federal firearms company in 2018, according to Bureau of Liquor Firearms and Tobacco files received by ABC Information.

Robert Findley Smith allegedly failed to keep receipts of firearms he offered at his business.

“The Licensee failed to document the disposition of [redacted] firearms, of which [redacted] have been reconciled and [redacted] was reported as lacking inventory,” the report from ATF stated. On top of that, he was a repeat offender for this offense, according to the ATF.

Adhering to its investigation into Smith’s organization, ATF issued him a warning letter in February 2018, which is the “the very least serious action the ATF can acquire towards a licensee with compliance troubles,” in accordance to a joint report by The Trace and United states Currently.
